Brain & Senses Test

1. Demonstrate their knowledge of the parts of the brain, neurons,  lobes of the cerebrum, learning and memory, the teenage brain on an evaluation using: Quizstar Online Quiz

2. Virtual Earthworm Dissection
 Observe the external and internal Earthworm anatomy to prepare for the upcoming dissection: Draw, label, and identify in Science Journal:

 A. External: Use the Earthworm review :setae, clitellum

B. Internal:Use: Worm World :mouth, ,esophagus, pharynx, crop, gizzard, intestine

 3. Other sites to use: Earthworm Tutorial, Earthworm Dissection, Virtual Worm: Identify: suprapharangeal ganglia, aortic arches

Binders Due

6/7 Earthworm Dissection

1. Follow proper safety rules and dissect the earthworm according to what was learned during the virtual dissection

2.Observe and identify the internal and external structures of the earthworm

 A. External: Identify:setae, clitellum

B. Internal:identify: mouth, ,esophagus, pharynx, crop, gizzard, intestine

 3.  Identify: suprapharangeal ganglia, aortic arches

6/8 Virtual Frog Dissection

1. Practice dissecting a Frog Dissection virtually on the Internet in preparation of the Frog Dissection

2. Identify and understand the functions of the organs (heart, lungs, pancreas, kidney, stomach, large and small intestines, gallbladder) that make up the organ systems (digestive, circulatory, excretory, respiratory) in the frog

In groups students will demonstrate their knowledge of a laboratory activities & research to review the concepts of Life Science and work to become the "Science Survivor"

Research & Lab

Science Survivor- Day 2

1. Take a posttest to evaluate  knowledge of 8th Grade Life Science and compare to pretest taken in September

2. In groups students will demonstrate their knowledge of  Life Science and work to become the "Science Survivor"
